The Benefits of Using Tattoo Friendly Design Reference

Getting a tattoo is a creative process and it can be fun to let your imagination run wild when it comes to choosing a design. The Internet is a great place to find ideas, as is the library, or the tattoo studio. However, it would be good to heed our words of warning when choosing a design: not all designs are “tattoo-able” — that is, possible to recreate on the skin in the same way you find it online or on paper. These designs will need to be re-worked to translate to your skin properly, and this process may require you to compromise on the complexity or the quality of the design you want. In addition, this work is all done by your tattooist, which adds to their time, your time, and your cost for the tattoo. The Tattoo Friendly® reference sold at TattooFinder.com is our attempt at solving this problem by designing a type of product that is meant to be a tattoo.

Every piece of Tattoo Friendly® reference we sell on TattooFinder.com has passed a rigorous set of testing and quality control checks, all of which ensures the following three requirements are followed:

1.Tattoo Friendly reference must include accurate, corresponding stencils: The blueprint for a great tattoo.

When you acquire a piece of Tattoo Friendly artwork from TattooFinder.com, you get two things: the design and the corresponding stencil. The stencil contains the information your tattooist needs to translate both the obvious and subtle components of the design to your skin with a high degree of accuracy. For more information on stencils, see our Article, "About Stencils and Their Importance."

2. Tattoo Friendly reference must be able to be tattooed on human skin.

Your skin is the canvas for your tattoo art. Despite the many technological advances that have come to tattooing over the years, there will always be limits to what makes an image “tattoo-able” due to the restrictions of this “canvas.” In order for artwork to be considered Tattoo Friendly, we must consider things such as color usage and design size and how they might translate to the many varieties of human skin when tattooed. A tattoo will always have some probability of being damaged by the sun, stretched with age, and pulled by gravity, but Tattoo Friendly artwork has been designed to be tattooed as accurately as possible and to best withstand these changes over time.

3. Tattoo Friendly reference must be allowed to be modified and combined.

At Tattoofinder.com we purposefully allow you to directly download a high-resolution (300 DPI), free to be modified version of the tattoo design and stencil so that you or your tattooist are able to easily change it in any way you see fit. We will never include any DRM (digital rights management) software, download limits, or other tricks that serve to restrict you from accessing, modifying, or combining designs. We carefully divide and separate our designs so that they can be easily merged together, as well as provide downloadable PNG file versions with transparent backgrounds. Our 300 DPI print resolution images offer the highest level of print quality as well should you choose to manually combine artwork rather than doing it through digital tools. Examples Of Combining Multiple Designs

Tattooists Love Tattoo Friendly Reference too.

Most tattooists love it when they see a TattooFinder.com design come through the door. They know that this means their customer has done their research and are bringing with them an effective tool that will help them make a great tattoo happen. Of course, it always helps to take time to find a good tattooist. No matter how convenient our Tattoo Friendly reference makes things, it still takes someone with an appropriate degree of talent and skill to give you a tattoo. You can make sure of this by seeking out someone who is reputable and whose personal style reflects your tattoo vision. Most tattooists should have a photo album of completed work that you can review and evaluate. Once you do pick your tattooist, they'll be pleased that you took the time to prepare, and that you consider them as someone truly qualified to apply your tattoo.
